A chemical peel helps to eliminate superficial dead skin cells which can contribute to a dull looking complexion. Peels can help repair sun damage, stimulate collagen and revitalize aging skin.

Our medical aestheticians are experts in performing many different types of chemical peels. Each patient will receive a thorough evaluation and consultation to decide which chemical peel program is right for his or her individual skin concerns. 

Peels are relatively quick, painless and very effective. During a chemical peel, a solution is applied to the face in order to encourage exfoliation. This chemical solution improves and smooths the texture of the skin by removing its damaged outer layers, causing it to separate and peel off. This allows new skin to regenerate. The down time (recovery time) is minimal and the effects give you healthy, glowing skin.

We suggest a series of 4-6 peels for optimal results.

Sometimes, an acne pimple can be so embarrassing you want to get rid of it immediately. Occasions like a party, a wedding, an interview or a date may be times when you don’t want to lose your confidence because of a blemish. 

Our physician, Dr. Greenberg, can inject Kenalog (cortisone) into a cystic pimple to reduce inflammation, pain and swelling. You may begin to notice improvement in as little as 24 hours. 

The Skin Classic is a direct high frequency (electrical energy) device that treats minor skin irregularities and epidermal conditions. It works by dehydrating  and eliminating the top layer of a skin blemish so that new healthy skin can grow. 

Common irregulars that the Skin Classic device can treat include:

Sebaceous Hyperplasia: A common, benign condition of sebaceous glands in adults of middle age or older. Irregularities can be single or multiple and manifest as yellowish, soft, small papules on the face (particularly nose, cheeks and forehead). 

Milia, Clogged Pores, Blackheads: A common skin irregularity that affects 85-100% of people at some time during their lives. It is characterized by noninflammatory follicular papules or comedones and by inflammatory papules, pustules, and nodules in its more severe forms. Acne vulgaris affects the areas of skin with the densest population of sebaceous follicles; these areas include the face, the upper part of the chest and the back. 

Seborrheic Keratosis: Is a minor skin irregularity of unknown origin. It commonly appears after age 40. These irregularities appear as wart-like growths in a variety of colors. They may appear in large numbers on the surface of the body. They are usually painless and benign, but may become irritated and itch. They may be cosmetically disfiguring and psychologically distressing as a result. They are typically located on the face, chest, shoulders, back or other areas. They may be slightly elevated or flat. A waxy or wart like appearance is noted with a pasted on appearance. They may be yellow, brown, black or flesh colored. 

The Melanage skin brightening system is a superficial chemical peel designed to improve the texture and appearance of the skin. This peel can be used on patients of most skin colors with persistent or particularly resistant pigmentation problems.  It entails the application of a cream masque and an at home regimen.

The Melanage masque is applied during an office visit where it is compounded freshly to ensure its potency and reliability. Prescription strength hydoquinone deters the development of melanin production while Retinoic acid accelerates cell turnover, “pushing” present pigment cells to the surface where they are sloughed off. The application of the masque takes approximately 20 minutes and there is no pain and little to no discomfort

The mask is removed at home by the patient after a required length of time depending on skin type. Afterwards, patients are responsible for adhering to an easy-to-follow, but strict, at-home regimen involving the application of several Melange post peel products. 

You may experience slight redness after removal of the masque. The redness may last for the next 10-14 days. Approximately 48 hours after the treatment your skin will start to peel, which will generally last 3-5 days. You MUST follow the at-home regimen for optimal results. You will be provided, at no charge, with an at-home skincare product kit
